Why does it seem like the UPS man takes his time when it comes to my packages??? I know I am exaggerating but I always feel like a kid at Christmas waiting! I can't wait to open up my boxes! I just placed a HUGE order from MAC and can't wait to see all my goodies! Its coming just in time because I have a rather large wedding to work this weekend ( can we say 13 girls??!!) I will also be introducing my new assistant who I love this weekend as well! I will put up a profile on her soon :0)

I had an absolute BLAST working with Katie and her girls on her wedding day! It was a rainy day but they totally rocked it including pink umbrellas! I even found out that we had all worked at the same candy store several years ago at the same time and didn't even know it!

Okay, so sorry for not blogging like I should! But things are so busy and wedding session is here! YAY YAY YAY! My calender is getting very full, which means I will be posting pics of the gorgeous girls soon!

yup that's right... I just received my card! I am a MAC PRO member!

I am going to be transferring to MAC. Now that means that I will be more versatile in my artistry and be able to cater to the glam and the natural bride!

I am so excited to have finally done these. We had such a fun day of hair and makeup! I met up with Deborah with Creekside clippers (who is by the way fab and does on location up-dos!) to have a day of portfolio work. All of the girls are wearing false eyelashes of all different styles. I do recommend this for a bride! Why? Well it makes you stand out and why not be a little more glam on your big day! I got to work with Kristin on her wedding day July 4th! What a great way to spend the day. Both she and her bridesmaids were so cute and a blast to be around. I met up with the wedding party in Ocala on May 1st and wished I could have stayed and partied with them, that is how much fun it looked! Pure by Lindsey was the Photographer... I few months ago I got to work with Lindsey and Monica, 2 awesome photographers here in town in a sexy photo shoot. We had several clients who booked us that day. Maternity Leave

This is just a little note to potential brides. I will be setting aside a 2 month block that I will not be booking on location weddings. This will be in the month of September and October. Our little man is due to arrive October 11. I will book weddings that can be done in the store the month of September. I will resume weddings in November but only a limited amount so please contact me if you have any questions. Starting in December my schedule should be back in full swing!

I have some exciting news!! (Well I think its pretty exciting!) I am working on a new portfolio and am needing some models to pose for them :0) Each girl that signs up will get the glam session (which is a $65.00 value) free! The only catch is that you do have to take a picture without makeup too. I am willing to work around your schedule so if you are wanting to do it on a Friday night or before a special occasion (excluding your own wedding) we can make it work! Wow I am slow these days!!

So I guess blogging is my one thing I always procrastinate at :0( But today I am going to catch up a little. I also want to update you guys on some big things going on in my life! Most of you know but I will formally announce: Scotty and I are expecting! Baby Meffen is due to arrive October 11 and we are so excited!!! It has been a rocky road to get here with a miscarriage the first time around... but we are only a couple days away from the end of the first trimester and have already had 2 ultrasounds. We are just praying daily for a healthy and happy baby!

On another note wedding session is here and with a wedding or 2 every weekend I am having a blast! A note to brides: I am booking up quickly for the month of April and May so please don't hesitate to contact me to nail down your date with me.

MAC MAC MAC

Okay so I have finally succumb to the MAC Pressure!!! For the longest time I always said that I would not use their products but after lots of research I went and bought MAC products today. What does this mean? Well I guess just more options and more high intensity colors to use. I will still be sticking with MN foundation just because they totally ROCK! I guess you could say I am growing up as a makeup artist and going out of my comfort zone!

Also stay tuned because I will soon be announcing something pretty big that YOU might be able to be apart of!!! Its pretty awesome.

Project Boudoir Photoshoot

Yesterday was my sexy day! Well it was my day to make 6 girls feel ultra sexy for a boudoir shoot! I was able to work with the very talented Monica with IMJ Photography and Lindsey with pure Photography. Girls if you are wanting to spice things up I highly recommend them!!!

We worked to shoot out of a Bed in Breakfast in Gainesville. Each girl was so gorgeous inside and out, 2 of them were models so shots will be posted soon!

ZPR Bag Shoot

Last weekend I had the opportunity to work a fun fashion/product shoot in Jacksonville! A North Carolina based company (Green Alley) created these cute handbags called ZPR Bags. These bags can be customized simply with their zipper design, there are 6 different colors so you can mix and match! The three models are Jacksonville locals and did an awesome job even though the weather was SO cold! Kara and Jeremy Pennington were the photographers (they are truly amazing!) there was also a stylist (Jennifer) and several helpers.

Fall 2008 Wedding Expo!

Yesterday I was able to be apart of this great event! Janis (my boss and partner in crime) and I were vendors for the first time at this great bridal show! I saw many familiar faces and met several new people too! I was a great place to make connections with photographers and of course bakeries... yummy! We were set up next to the Flour Pot Bakery and they were amazing! I will be using them from now on for special occasions! We learned a lot and can't wait to do it again! Also a special note to the brides to be: Thanks for taking time yesterday to speak with us! We can't wait to make your day even brighter!

I usually do not post personal things but I wanted to show off :0) My hunny and I just celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary! I am pretty darn proud of everything we have accomplished so far. We actually attended a wedding that weekend and Scotty was in the wedding. I was nice to sit and just watch a wedding...... not work one! :0) I can't wait to see what next year will bring!

Do you ever have that feeling? Well I have with artistry lately :0(..... But this week and today have been the boost I needed! Today was only icing on the cake with Cayce's makeup session with her sister and mother! It was a beautiful time and beautiful girls! She was a gorgeous bride inside and out!

On another note look for me in September for the Bridal Expo!!! This is a busy time for us but SO excited! So if you go please look for me! I hope its a succesful one!

A Wedding Weekend!

What a great weekend I have had! 3 weddings in one weekend?... thats right and each one was a blessing!

Fist bride of the weekend was Brittany. I have known her for a long time since we went to church together when we were younger. She looked gorgeous and so happy. So... Congrats girlie!

The next bride was Danielle. I traveled to Sweetwater Branch to do the makeup. The girls wore bright pink dresses, so I glammed them up with eyes to match! Danielle had lashes applied and rocked out the makeup to match. I forgot my camera and was not able to meet the photographer so no pictures for this one! :0(

Finally the last wedding of the weekend was Sunday! Pam and her bridal party were awesome! I felt like we were are girlfriends! You guys made my job SO easy cause y'all are gorgeous! Pam did eyelashes and everyone did a smokey eye! What a fun day.

I I love weddings and this weekend proved that even though it was challenging and I feel as though wedding are coming out my ears, I still truly love what I do and can't wait for next weekend of weddings!

Prayer

We do we put God on the back burner so often? I can talk so easily to my friends and family so easily and frequently but not my heavenly father? I need to remember that prayer is a conversation, expressing my thoughts and feelings to my best friend! My brother shared a video with me expressing these thoughts. Jesus is right there with us we just have to reach to him and he will take care of the rest! I pray tonight that I will lean on him daily and let him lead me and my family. It seems so easy, but our selfish nature tends to want to take over and give us doubts about trusting. So, I need to just talk to God and work through my struggles, because prayer is just a fancy word for a heart to heart with my best friend!

Feeling refreshed

After a totally exhausting week of weddings I finally feel like I can breath! Still I really enjoying being apart of the brides day. While spending those moments with them it makes me reflect on my own marriage and the blessing that God has given me in Scotty! The newness that the bride and groom are experiencing that day in their relationship is so exciting! Though we are remarking on 3 years as husband and wife there is no reason that my eyes shouldn't still sparkle like the bride does on her wedding day for her groom. I am so thankful for every blessing in my life and sometimes I need to sit back and reflect on them time to time!

Who Knew?

Today was awsome! God is always there for my little family. He seems to always give you that little boost right when you think you have sunk. Work is such a blessing! I am blessed to have a boss who loves the Lord and treats my as one of her own. I love my career! Who knew this little tomboy would grow up to be a makeup artist? I am totaly book this week with apointments! We were getting so frustrated with life and we get this little boost! Scotty and I have learned that God knows all the chapters of our story we just have to slow down and read it!
